Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resources

Here are some resources and recommendations relating to the Coronavirus (COVID-19):

Stay up to date with the latest updates from:

  • CDC, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

  • WHO, World Health Organization

Best practices:

  • Wash hands frequently with warm water and soap for 20+ seconds. Check out this website, WashYourLyrics.com, created by 17-year-old developer William Gibson. It breaks down any song into roughly 20-second segments by pairing Genius’s lyric database with Britain's National Health Service’s instructional poster.

  • Disinfect surfaces frequently

  • Stay home whether or not you are experiencing symptoms! Flatten the curve

Although there has been a moratorium on evictions in Portland (11:35 in the video), that does not go far enough. Rent will still accrue and must be paid within six months after the crisis ends, which simply does not help most folks here. Sign petitions to have a complete rent freeze:

Sign this petition to (1) Cease all ICE field operations and halt all deportations, (2) Release all people at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, and (3) Close the Portland Immigration Court and make clear that all deadlines have been indefinitely extended. And spread the word using this #FreeThePeople social media toolkit.

Read Zipporah Arielle’s piece, Please Stop Treating Me Like I’m Disposable When You Talk About The Coronavirus about being an immunosuppressed person during the outbreak.
